Winemaking in Switzerland dates back to Roman times, and the country is known for its small-scale, high-quality production. Indigenous varieties like Chasselas thrive in the Alpine climate, while Valais and Vaud regions produce elegant reds and whites. Most of the time the Swiss keep the wines for themseves, however the few that have arrived in the UK are on par with anyone. Switzerland’s wines often reflect its pristine landscapes and artisanal traditions.
