Description
This amber dry wine, made entirely from Rkatsiteli grapes, comes from the Kakheti region of Georgia, where vineyards lie at 300-500 meters above sea level. The alluvial soils, rich in clay and limestone, paired with the region's continental climate of hot summers and cool winters, provide ideal conditions for growing Rkatsiteli. Grapes are hand-harvested in late September, with only the finest selected for vinification.
The wine is fermented in Qvevri, traditional Georgian clay vessels buried underground, with extended skin contact for six months. This ancient winemaking method imparts depth and complexity, allowing the wine to fully express the character of the grape and terroir.
In the glass, it displays an amber hue with golden highlights. Aromas of dried apricot, quince, and pear are layered with honey, nuts, and subtle spice. The palate is medium to full-bodied, featuring a rich, creamy texture with flavors of ripe apricot, peach, almonds, and a touch of white pepper. Balanced acidity provides freshness and structure, leading to a long, elegant finish with lingering notes of dried fruit, nuts, and a hint of minerality.
This is a beautifully crafted wine that reflects the tradition and unique character of Georgian Qvevri winemaking.
