Description
Dalia Winery, under the guidance of winemaker Kristina Lukić, is revitalizing Serbia's ancient Negotin Valley wine region. After studying viticulture and oenology at the University of Udine and gaining experience in Sardinia and Beaujolais, Lukić returned home to craft authentic Serbian wines.
The 2022 'Trač' Gewürztraminer, named after the Serbian word for "gossip," embodies the spirit of sharing and conversation. Hand-harvested in early September, the grapes undergo indigenous yeast fermentation with a day of skin contact, followed by seven months aging on fine lees in stainless steel. The result is a light golden-yellow wine with delicate floral and fruity aromas, featuring juicy lychee, white peach, and orange zest. On the palate, it is balanced and refreshing, with a lively acidity and a long finish of tropical fruits and mandarin orange.
The vineyards, situated 3 km from the Timok River at 150 meters elevation, benefit from a continental climate with significant diurnal temperature variations, promoting excellent grape maturation. The organically farmed soils—a mix of clay, sand, silt, and limestone—are rich in nutrients, contributing to the wine's unique profile.
'Trač' Gewürztraminer is a pure, honest, and refreshing wine, perfect for enjoying in good company.
